The Human Condition - George Strasburger Solo Show

George Strasburger’s large-scale oil paintings demonstrate a classical approach. He uses a combination of loose and tight brushwork. Strasburger’s characters often perform tasks or engage in activities that depict an essential act or need. He explains, “The people portrayed have been characterized as being on the “fringe” of society. In my neighborhood, they are society.” Strasburger’s paintings are his “take” on the human condition, focusing on the common and the good. Strasburger was raised in a working-class neighborhood in Scranton, PA. His first artistic influences were the murals in the Catholic Church he attended as a child. Strasburger is award-winning and prolific, with solo exhibits throughout the Southwest. He currently lives and paints full-time in Tucson, AZ.
