FREE Yokai Performance by Dancer Alika Victor @ JFG

FREE at the Japanese Friendship Garden Step into a twilight realm where folklore flickers to life. Returning for her second year, movement specialist Alika Victor conjures the spirit of the Yōkai through a luminous dance journey set to evocative Japanese music. With wide ribbons that ripple like river spirits, glowing lanterns that beckon from beyond, and enchanted props—LED capes, lighted umbrellas, and a shimmering LED fan—Alika channels the mystery, mischief, and magic of Japan's supernatural beings. New this year, Alika adds drifting fog and curling smoke to the performance. She dances in and out of the haze, veiling and revealing herself like an apparition, casting an eerie, otherworldly spell over the garden. This immersive performance invites guests to witness a living tapestry of shadow and shimmer, where tradition meets transformation. Each gesture honors the unseen, the ancestral, and the playful spirits that dwell between worlds.
