Three-Way Conversations, A Solo Exhibition By Daniel Prendergast
About This Event
Three-way Conversations Daniel Prendergast
April 5th-April 28th
Friday 6-9
Saturday 11-2 and 5-7 Sunday 11-2
Daniel Prendergast’s solo exhibit ‘Three-Way Conversations’ is composed of nine groupings of three works that talk to each other in surprising ways.
Each grouping includes work from different directions in Prendergast’s studio. There are colorful and undulating abstract paintings. There are austere black-and-white photos of mysterious moments from his garden. And there are homages to his students’ artwork with added references from art history, religion, and the natural world.
“The art was created with no thought to the way one kind of work related to the other. I was just following my scattered visual impulses as usual,” said the artist. “It was after the fact that I realized how much they said to and about one another.”
Prendergast has previously exhibited other works in each of these series separately. Viewed together, these seemingly disparate bodies of work reveal their commonalities. You are invited to join the conversation with the work, the artist, and your fellow art aficionados at Five15Arts throughout the run of the exhibit.
