MIM celebrates the opening of our new special exhibition with curator talks and performances. Supported by Phoenix Youth Symphony Orchestras and Arizona Suzuki Association Programming supported in part by the Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture and Arizona Commission on the Arts Weekend Highlights include: Kickoff Concert: Start the weekend with a marquee performance by internationally renowned violinist Rachel Barton Pine, followed by an engaging Q&A session. Curator-Led Talks: Join MIM's curator, Matthew Zeller, PhD, for a sneak peek into the exhibition’s creation and curation process. Conservation Talks: Learn from MIM’s conservator Rodrigo Correa-Salas as he discusses the fascinating process of preparing these historical instruments for display, offering insights into their care and preservation. Musical Showcases: Experience performances by the Phoenix Symphony’s string quartet and the Burn City String Quartet, along with historical string instrument demonstrations from experts Jon Mendle and Jeff Wells.
