LEARN // Curator Talk: A Frontline Perspective

Join us for a stimulating dialogue as guest curators from the Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA) and Phoenix Art Museum (PhxArt) discuss their involvement and process in curating Guarding the Art. Conceived by the BMA, Guarding the Art provided the opportunity for PhxArt frontline staff to draw from their unique insights and perspectives to create an original exhibition, including didactics, interpretation materials, object labels, and an illustrated catalogue. PhxArt followed the model developed by the BMA and presented its own exhibition, Guarding the Art: A Frontline Perspective, to Arizona audiences. Guest curators will discuss the collaborative nature of this curatorial endeavor and reflect on its profound significance, with the conversation moderated by Christian Ramírez, Cohn Assistant Curator of Contemporary and Community Art Initiatives. Participating guest curators include Saul Millan and Juan Jose Oliveros Saldaña from PhxArt and Dereck Mangus from the BMA.
