International Archaeology Day 2026

Celebrate International Archaeology Day with us! Our City Archaeologist, Chris Schwartz, will offer a guided tour of The Park of Four Waters at 9:30 am. Located 10 acres south of the Va’aki (platform mound), The Park of Four Waters contains preserved remains of major irrigation canals that supplied water to most Ancestral O’Odham villages on the north side of the Salt River. This tour requires walking on uneven grounds and requires advanced registration. Join the Study of Ancient Lifeways & Technologies (SALT) group at the museum from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm for their monthly activities, including atlatl (spear throwing).
