It is the longest-running show from the same entertainer in Waikiki. Kapono and his Duke’s on Sunday Band—percussionist Lopaka Colon, bassist Matt Krahula, and drummer Wendell Ching—celebrate this milestone achievement and recreate the celebration of music and community with island classics, original covers, and Kapono’s original compositions, which are infused with positive energy and infectious enthusiasm. Native Hawaiian Kapono is a Grammy-nominated and award-winning singer-songwriter known for his soulful voice and captivating performances. He rose to fame in the 1970s as one half of the iconic duo Cecilio & Kapono, and he continues to be a leading figure in Hawaii’s music scene and inspire audiences worldwide.
