End of Residency Exhibtion: "The Veils of Dawn"

Experience the allure of twilight at The Veils of Dawn, Ibrahim Khazzaka’s solo exhibition marking the end of his residency with SAACA. Through a fusion of vibrant colors and delicate forms, Khazzaka’s ceramic pieces delve into the solace found in the transient moments of sunsets and sunrises in the American Southwest. Join us for an evening of art that encourages contemplation on the fine line between discomfort and belonging. At this special event, composer and producer Kevin Larkin will present some compositional and textural tunes inspired by gentle sunsets. About Kevin Larkin: Pineross is the musical exploration of Kevin Larkin - a composer, performer, producer, educator based in Tucson, AZ. His work often explores the intersection of the organic and digital aspects of sound, incorporating manipulated field recordings and processed acoustic sources. He has collaborated with filmmakers, dancers, environmentalists, songwriters, and poets. About Ibrahim Khazzaka: Ibrahim is a Lebanese transnational artist who forms sculptures and installations with vivid colors to invite contemplation on notions of affection, sensuality, and belonging.  After a career in psychology and education in Lebanon, Dubai, and Los Angeles, he moved to NYC in 2018, where he began dedicating his time to developing his studio practice. He earned his Master in Fine Arts from SUNY New Paltz in 2023. He teaches Design and "Exploring Art & Visual Culture" at Pima Community College and calls Tucson, AZ home.
