Beneath the Bustle: Spring and Summer Fashions
About This Event
Join us for the first of our Summer Lecture Series, where we explore the transformative fashions that defined spring and summer style. This program examines the lighter fabrics, softer color palettes, and seasonal design choices that shaped warm weather dress during the Victorian period. Through discussion and visual examples, we’ll uncover how structure, undergarments, and silhouette worked together to create the iconic bustle era look, while adapting to the heat and social expectations of the season.
