About This Event

Beads and materials will be provided, just bring your creativity! Participants will leave this 2-hour workshop with their own completed beaded bracelet! ABOUT THE ARTIST Carmen de Novais Guerrero, founder and jewelry designer of Carmens Creations, started beading as a little girl in northeastern Brazil, learning from her grandmother. A descendant of the Kambiwá tribe from the northern state of Pernambuco, Carmen began her beading journey by learning how to perforate and string seeds in the backyard, delighted in making colorful, simple necklaces to wear and give to friends as gifts. Throughout her life, she has explored this traditional artform, constantly challenging herself to dream up new patterns, techniques and exciting color combinations.
