ArtX - "How will you answer the water's call?" Installation

“How will you answer the water’s call?” (Part of the ArtX Experience) What can a single drop of water do? Come, write or draw your water related thoughts on a denim droplet. Then hook it to the rope and help pull up the wildlife themed upcycled fabric art. Just like nature, every new drop reveals more beauty. XXX It is no doubt Arizona is facing a water crisis. As we are deeply impacted by the water shortages, so is the beloved wildlife around us. ”How will you answer the water’s call?”” is an interactive art that aims to simulate the audience to think about the relationship between water, humanity and wildlife. A wired faucet sculpture with denim tied to the outlet mimicking the flow of water where the audience can append messages about water consumption on custom up-cycled denim tags in the shape of water droplets. The other side of the pulley supports a string of wildlife fabric art, including flowers, insects and animals. The weight of the tags pull up the wildlife art showing the impact of our water usage on nature. To lessen the tone, I will use colorful material. On top of the art is a set of wired open hands linked to the ceiling structure welcoming the flowers. Audience from any races and background who wish to interact with the piece are free to express themselves on the denim water droplet.
