Receptions, March 1st, March 15th and April 5th.Joan Thompson has been a constant in the Phoenix art scene, as a printmaker, a teacher, a student of life drawing, and a painter... a small but mighty force. We at First Studio Gallery have curated a selected group of over 40 of her works of art, from a career spanning over 5 decades. Early college works through recent mixed media works demonstrate the depth of talent and a spirit of continuing exploration of self expression Joan possesses. And though her memory has failed her, she continues to draw and create, because art is what she knows, who she is.
Join us as we celebrate the life and art of Joan Thompson. Many of her works are for sale with 100% of all proceeds going to help fund her long term care in a safe place, where she can continue to create and thrive.
