Tempe History Society Lunch Talks: Louis Carlos Bernal: The Godfather and Icon of Arizona’s Chicano Fine Art Photography by Anita Huizar-Hernández

Louis Carlos Bernal’s “Benitez Suite” photos of 1977 capture Borderlands life against the forces that sought to destroy it. Dr. Huizar-Hernandez introduces some of Bernal's main contributions to Chicano fine art photography, focusing especially on his Benítez Suite. Performances at the Museum: Jerusafunk

Kick off the new season with the highly danceable yet unconventional sounds of Jerusafunk! This dynamic six-piece ensemble blends the irresistible rhythms of traditional funk and disco with a bold, genre-bending twist, drawing inspiration from klezmer, cumbia, bossa nova, taqsim, and beyond. This free event will be held in the museum’s Community Room.
