RaShawn Hart is a Phoenix-based choreographer whose work explores the expressive power of movement in contemporary dance. A graduate of Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, Hart has established himself as an emerging voice in Arizona’s dance community through work that is both physically driven and emotionally charged. His choreography has been performed by Convergence Ballet and Instinct Dance Corps and presented at the American College Dance Festival receiving gala honors and BlakTinx Dance Festival in both Phoenix and Los Angeles. In 2018, his work was featured in both editions of BlakTinx, receiving positive recognition from the LA Dance Chronicle. Hart also serves as a regular choreographer for Scottsdale Community College’s pre-professional company, Instinct Dance Corps, where he been setting work since 2019 Committed to developing an authentic choreographic voice, Hart creates work that invites reflection, conversation, and human connection. As he continues to expand his artistic practice, he remains dedicated to telling meaningful stories through effortful choreographic vernacular.
