About
Michael Buxbaum is an Arizona-based documentary photographer whose work traces unguarded, everyday moments across 44 countries. His images emerge from long stretches of international cultural exploration, observing people and the streets where they live, work, and play, grounded in a belief that ordinary environments hold extraordinary meaning. He spends roughly half the year abroad, building diverse archives of people, places, and gestures that reveal how culture is lived. His recent work blends photography with observational writing to explore memory, place, and the subtle ways communities shape themselves and, in turn, the world we live in.
