Margie Van Zee is a Scottsdale-based artist whose creative path spans graphic design, editorial art direction, interiors, and painting. Her early education in graphic design included exploration across a variety of art mediums, establishing a foundation in composition, color, and visual storytelling. As art director of Phoenix Home & Garden magazine, Margie developed an appreciation for the relationship between art, architecture, and the Arizona landscape. She later founded Bella Palazzo, bringing her artistic sensibility to distinctive homes and hospitality experiences. Throughout her career, creating beauty and a sense of place has remained a guiding thread. Following years devoted to building Bella Palazzo, Margie returned to painting with renewed curiosity and purpose. She has been training under artist Kathy Taylor, continuing to develop her technique and individual voice. Working primarily in acrylic, she draws inspiration from travel, nature, personal memories, and the emotional qualities of color and texture. Her return to the studio marks a new chapter in a lifelong creative practice—one shaped by exploration, connection, and the belief that beauty is a form of caring.
