Art has always played an important role in my life, however, my first major project at age 3 didn't go over so well at all. In the early morning hours I decided to create a crayon mural on my grandparents' freshly painted living room walls. After earning my BFA from the University of Illinois in Art Education, I attended classes at the Chicago Art Institute. Teaching art at the high school level for a few years helped me transition into becoming a "real" artist. I'm rather passionate about experimenting with materials and techniques so my style keeps morphing but I never forget my formal training and am always aware of composition, balance and the use of color in my paintings.
