Charles Kurre is a multi-discipline artist based in Arizona. A self-taught naturalist and backcountry guide, Kurre's abstracted topographies embody a lifetime of intimacy with the natural world. A past member of the Eye Lounge Collective, he is an ACA Project Grant recipient curating Language/Image/Object for the ACA Traveling Exhibition Program; L/I/O explored the intersection of visual and verbal expression. His work has appeared in Abstractics Journal, New American Paintings, and Phoenix Home & Garden, with reviews in Art News, Art & Antiques, Dialogue, New Art Examiner, and Chicago Tribune, Sun-Times, and Chicago Reader.
