Caila Elle is a performance artist, visual artist, and electropop musician known for her theatrical flair, absurdist humor, and edgy soundscapes. Her solo performances are raw and energetic, blending smart lyrics with fun, layered compositions. Musical Roots & Recognition Caila made her mark as the lead singer of Chicago’s chamber punk sextet apartment (aks Apartment Burlesque Orchestra), gathering a cult following with raw, literary, absurdist lyrics, dynamic melodies, and boundary-pushing theatrics. IndieMusic.com praised the “charmingly dark, theatrical, witty overtone” of her performances. The Chicago Reader lauded her work as a “fractured theatrical and sometimes sinister (but not goth) stew of strident witty art punk.” Live Experiences & Theatrics Showcasing her versatility as a musician, comedian, and performance artist, Caila has performed across the US in traditional music venues, comedy clubs, libraries, public bathrooms, galleries and laundromats.
