Ayako Bando was born in Tokushima, a beautiful country town in Japan surrounded by mountains, rivers, trees, and flowers. She studied art in Osaka, London, Tokyo, and New York. Currently, she resides in Arizona. Bando was greatly influenced by Wassily Kandinsky, and her artwork is known for its vibrant use of color, often depicting nature in motion. She has been awarded numerous accolades and scholarships, including the "Japan Art Academy Award," the first international prize for the 40th Modern Japan Art Society Exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum and the "Facilitator Award" by Paulina Pobocha, Curator at the MoMA for the Togetherness & Oneness exhibition at the Williamsburg Art & Historical Center. Her work has been exhibited in various venues in the United States, Japan, Germany, and Italy.
