About

Carved wood. Sacred stories. Desert dreams. Elizabeth Frank is a visual artist based in southern Arizona, where the Sonoran Desert meets the sky islands-one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth. Her work blends the folkloric, mythic, and timely, using sustainable and reclaimed materials. Each piece reflects the natural beauty she encounters and the urgent issues she observes-human migration, climate change, survival, and hope. Every journey into the forest to collect the aspen wood she carves is a pilgrimage. Every sculpture, a gentle prayer to walk lightly on the Earth. Elizabeth earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Arizona State University. She continued her studies in language and sculpture at Instituto Allende in San Miguel de Allende, MX. Her artworks have been exhibited in galleries, museums and art fairs around the US including Philadelphia Art Museum Fine Craft Exhibit and American Craft Council Contemporary Craft Shows in both San Francisco and Baltimore. She's received numerous awards including Award of Excellence in Sculpture-Tubac Center for the Arts and Best of Show in Sculpture-Scottsdale Arts Festival. Elizabeth's artworks have appeared in feature films. Her jewelry designs were worn by the actress Julia Roberts, in the film, Dying Young. Her sculpture and mixed media works are included in books, magazines and journals. Elizabeth is honored to have her artwork included in collections throughout the United States and abroad.
