Ariana Enriquez (b. El Paso, Texas) is a visual artist living and working in Mesa, Arizona. She received her BFA in painting and MA in art history from Arizona State University. After working in art museums for a decade, Enriquez started her own mural business in 2022. Inspired by scientific and naturalist illustration, Enriquez creates vibrant paintings that celebrate the flora and fauna of the Sonoran Desert. The plants and wildlife in her work are rooted in personal experience, serving as metaphors for her relationships and extensions of her identity. Working primarily with acrylic in both her studio and mural practice, Enriquez hand-paints every detail to honor the intricacy and individuality of the natural world. Through this careful attention, she invites viewers to slow down, look closely, and recognize the beauty that exists in the often-overlooked details of everyday life.
