Frances Deciga is an emerging Mexican American artist who goes by the alias TwistedFae. She specializes in mixing the natural world with fantasy and myth to create surreal spaces. Her work pushes color to its limits to enhance the main subject of her work, which is often the female figure. She works traditionally with inks, oils, acrylics, watercolors, and more, as well as digitally to create her paintings. Her style is a mix of impressionism and semi-realism that was influenced by comics, video games, manga, and anime that she grew up with. She also paints with the intention to pull her audience into the magical worlds she creates in order to allow them to escape the mundane of everyday repetition and routine with her.
